matthew comes home
Today is the day Matthew finally comes all the way home. But only for a few days! Eleven to be exact. And not even ALL of eleven....engagement, wedding and then off to his new apartment.....that's life in the fast lane! Exciting, but soooo fast. It is all good....life has a way of moving you along whether you want to or not, lol...

wedding crafts
So, got a couple more things done. Painted two pillowcases for the couple (Mr. Corbitt & Mrs. Corbitt) and put the wedding date on the handkerchief that Caity will be wrapping around her bouquet. Downloaded wedding and sand ceremony vows for Caity to look at. Started the wall hanging....finished the champagne glasses yesterday. Also started putting recipes in the cookbook I bought for Caity. It's so cute...it's red checked and by Susan Branch with the title of "To My Daughter" on the front. May not get it finished before she leaves, I'll just send her my recipes and she will have to write them in there, lol....
Caity went and ordered her hair flowers from the florist. It is only going to cost $25. She wants lots of different kinds of white flowers like daisies, rose buds and other kinds with white ribbons. She picks it up that Saturday morning.... She isn't wearing a veil, just flowers in her hair. She is riding up on a horse (black and white) and gets off at the end of the aisle for her Dad to walk her down the aisle. The Special Bridesmaid, Emma, will also be standing there to adjust her train and follow behind her. I know, exciting, right?

engagement shower
So, since the groom will only be home for two weeks everything is on a SUPER tight schedule. We decided to have an engagement party/bridal shower all in one! I made up the invites (for next Tuesday!) and mailed them just moments ago....now on to finish the wedding banners. The champagne glasses are painted and curing. Kim made the cake topper (two owls and a moon) and she is making the table centerpieces (beta fish with peace plants and roses.) I need to make a banner for the road, one for the wedding site and at least one for the reception! Just bought 100' of sisal rope....hope that's enough, lol....
wedding
Super slammed with wedding preps. So MANY things yet to do....crafts to make....details to finalize....money to spend, lol....trying to round up all the RSVP's is one of the more detailed things....Venues - check. Chairs - check. Invites - check. Menu - check. Horse - check. Dress - check. Rings - check. Flowers - check. Photographer - check. Musicians - check. Guess what? Officiant - NOT check! Amazing how the MOST important detail can get side railed. Working on it, working on it....

website design
I am looking for a website design that I can afford. I want lots of control, but also want a simple store layout. I have been looking into GoDaddy and maybe setting one up with Wordpress. Apart from designing it the main concern is security. I anticipate about 20 different types of products in about six categories and 20 fragrances. Not all products will come in all scents. There will be Babies, Signature, Fresh Market, Men, Holiday and Gift Sets. Four scents in each category (except Gift Sets) for a total of about 20 scents. There will be a total of six product lines: Soap & Washes, Butters & Balms, Scrubs & Soaks, Masks & Toners, Home & Laundry, Perfume & Oils with three products each for a total of 18 products. Not every product line will come in every scent....it will vary. No one scent will come in ALL products....many scents will only have one or two product lines. For instance, Baby might have four scents but only be carried in the Soaps & Washes, Butters & Balms, and Home & Laundry for a total of 36 products. Each category will vary....so many things to decide.....
tag line
I've decided on the tagline "Sweet Bath Goods & Sundries" because it is short and descriptive. Sounds a little bit like what I'm going for....sort of a Shipping or Trading Company from the early 1900's. I also like "Handmade Bath Goods with European Flavor." I just want to make this part of my company search on the internet. I have a definite product line in mind that is partially developed. I am still working on focusing it down just a little bit more....

company colors
I have been swinging back and forth over a couple different color palettes. I was really liking the Brown/Turquoise/Hot Pink idea, but it just didn't feel right. Lots of that out there right now, along with the Black/White and Pastel palettes, especially in bath and body. Then there is the natural color schemes of Green/Tan/Blue. But the first one I thought of, and the one I am going with, is more of a nautical scheme. It is Cream/Navy/Red/Gold. I feel it represents the products I will be making....and it is different. I like the nautical theme with the Shipman name, and I think the labels will look good in these colors. Now, to design the logo....

new etsy shop
My new etsy shop is up and ready. I still have to take photographs, but now I have to buy a new camera....my daughter lost my little digital camera. I really loved it, it was a pink Sony and I had it all figured out! So, I guess it's on to ebay to see what I can find cheap, lol. With her wedding taking place on August 28 there is really no extra money in my budget right now. But check it out....Shipman Soap Company and you can at least see my new banner and stuff.
